ES: Definition
The top level of the organizational plan is the Client,
followed by the Company Code, which represents a unit
with its accounting, balance, P&L, and possibly identity
(subsidiary).
The next level down is Plant, an operational unit within
a company (Ex. HQ, Assembly Plant, Call Center, etc.)
Storage location is an organizational unit, which
differentiates between different material stocks in a
plant. A plant can consist of multiple storage locations.
Storage location is a place where stock is kept physically.
The Purchasing Organization is the legally responsible
group for external transactions.
This Group is further subdivided into Purchasing Groups

ES: Assignment
The Purchasing Organization can be defined by its
assignment to the company and/or plants.
Corporate Group wise Centralized Purchasing:
A Purchasing Organization doesn't necessarily need to
be assigned to a Company. This would enable
procurement for every company code.
A single purchasing organization is responsible for
multiple companies.
Company-Specific Purchasing:
A single purchasing organization is responsible for a
single company.
Plant-Specific Distributed Purchasing:
A single purchasing organization is responsible for a
single plant

IMG/ SPRO
Step 1) Enter the transaction code SPRO in the command field
To access the customizing Implementation Guide, enter the transaction
code SPRO in the command field.
Step 2) Click the SAP Reference Button
To get the list of the nodes and sub-nodes to configure the Enterprise
structure of the Logistic/ MM module.
Step 3) Navigate to Definition and Assignment
Click on the Enterprise Structure to see the nodes.
You will see the Definition and Assignment nodes under the main node of
the Enterprise structure
Select the Definition -> Logistic – General and Material Management
nodes for sub-nodes to configure the definitions of plants, storage
locations, and purchasing organizations.
Select the Assignment -> Logistic – General and Material Management
nodes for sub-nodes to configure the assignment of plants and purchasing
Organization to company codes.
