ABSTRACT
• The Hospital Management System handles
patient registration, online services, and data
storage. It assigns unique IDs to patients,
allows staff to update information, and
features search functions for room
availability, doctor schedules, and patient
details. Accessible via secure login, it ensures
fast data retrieval and strong security with a
user-friendly interface.
INTRODUCTION
• The Hospital Management System project streamlines
patient registration, billing, and data storage. It assigns
unique IDs to patients and stores details automatically.
Users can search for room availability, doctor schedules,
and patient information using IDs. Access is secured with
usernames and passwords, restricted to administrators
and receptionists for data entry. The system is designed
to be user-friendly, fast, and secure, ensuring easy
retrieval of data. Its purpose is to digitize hospital front-
office management, making it simpler, faster, and more
cost-effective. The system handles patient and diagnosis
details and displays them on screen when needed.
PROBLEM DOMAIN

• The Hospital Management System project aims to

automate hospital operations, focusing on
managing doctor appointments with patients. The
goal is to digitize front-office functions, making the
system user-friendly, fast, and cost-effective. It
replaces traditional manual processes by efficiently
collecting and storing patient and diagnosis details.
The system's primary function is to register, store,
and retrieve patient and doctor information as
needed, enabling effective data management
SOLUTION DOMAIN

The Hospital Management System will

automate hospital administration, improving
efficiency, accuracy, and patient care. By
replacing manual processes with a secure
and user-friendly system, the hospital can
offer faster, more reliable services to both
patients and healthcare staff.
REQUIREMENT OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

• The first step in the System Development Life Cycle

(SDLC) is identifying the need for change to improve or
enhance an existing system. An initial investigation into
the current hospital system revealed that it is entirely
manual. This manual system posed several challenges,
which were identified during the study. To address these
issues, a detailed analysis was conducted at a local
hospital. Based on the information collected, it was
decided that the new system would focus on maintaining
essential information about doctors and patients,
replacing the outdated manual system with a more
efficient solution
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

Hardware requirements are crucial to ensure that the software

operates efficiently on the physical computer resources. These
requirements often come with a Hardware Compatibility List (HCL),
particularly for operating systems or software applications. The HCL
provides details about tested and compatible hardware, as well as any
hardware that may be incompatible with the system or application.
For the Hospital Management System project, the following
hardware specifications are recommended:
•Processor: Intel Dual Core i5
•RAM: 4GB
•HARD DISK: 500GB
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

Software requirements specify the necessary software and

pre-requisites to ensure the proper functioning of an
application. These are typically not included in the
installation package and must be installed separately. For
the Hospital Management System, the key software
requirements include:

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7/XP/8/10/11

FRONT END: Html,css,java script
SERVER SIDE SCRIPT: Oracle SQL
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The current system is entirely manual. Patient

details (name, age, gender) are recorded each visit,
and bills are manually calculated. Diagnosis
information and immunization records are stored on
paper, which is later discarded. Doctors rely on
memory for prescribing medications, sometimes
missing better options. The system requires a lot of
paperwork, handled by receptionists and staff,
leading to inefficiencies and errors
EXPECTED OUTCOME

CONCLUSION:
The Hospital Management System significantly improves over the
manual system by eliminating case fields and paper-based processes.
Computerizing the system has greatly accelerated operations, addressing
the slow pace of front-office management. The system has been thoroughly
tested with dummy data and is found to be highly reliable, ensuring better
efficiency and accuracy in hospital management

ADVANTAGE:
• It is fast, efficient and reliable
• Avoids data redundancy and inconsistencyWeb-based
• Number of personnel required is considerably less
• Provides more security and integrity to data
