De-Super Heater – The Concept

The Circuit :

Integration : The Concept of Operation
- Pump circulates water between
insulated tank and De-super heater.

- Temp. of water in tank goes on


rising gradually.

- Pump cuts off when temp. reaches


55° C

- When water is consumed in


rooms, it draws water from
calorifier (Boiler), which in turn
draws water from hot tank, which
in turn draws water from make-up
tank.

- Make-up water enters the tank


and tank temp. drops below 55°C,
the pump will restart and the flow
through the De-super heater
De-Super Heater

The advantages
 Heat recovery of 15-20% of cooling capacity

eg : 100TR Chiller produces around 70Kw heating through de-


super heater. The hot water generation is approx. 1800
Litres/hour at 55Deg C

 No additional operating cost for heat recovery

 Improves the chiller Efficiency

 Reduces heating cost

 Reduce carbon emission

 Temperature up to 55 to 60 DegC

 Suitable for Process Industries, Hotel, Hospitals etc


Total Heat Recovery – The Concept
The Circuit :

When the chiller is running in CHW mode, pump P1 is ON & P2 is OFF. When Hot Water tank temperature is below the set
point, P2 gets activated with P1 getting switched off. When the hot water temperature is achieved, P2 goes off and P1
come ON. P1 and P2 operates with 2 separate heat exchangers.

eg : 100TR Chiller produces around 350Kw heating capacity.


The hot water generation is approx. 8600 Litres/hour at
55Deg C
