Begins on Holy Thursday with the evening Mass of the
Lord’s Supper.
We commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the
priest washes the 12 members of the congregation.
Holy Thursday is white, to signify joy for the gift of the
Eucharist and the priesthood.
Holy Thursday is a feast day of the Blessed Sacrament,
there is a procession of the Eucharist after the Mass to
the Altar of Reposition.

GOOD FRIDAY – we remember the death of Jesus

Gospel of St. Matthew.
2. The Year B – Gospel of St. Mark
3. The Year C – Gospel of St. Luke
The weekday readings are organized into a 2
year system.
Year 1 – when the year number is odd
( i.e.2013)
Year 2 – when the year number is even( i.e.
2014)
The liturgical color for Ordinary Time is
LITURGIC
AL
GREEN – symbol of hope and living vegetation, used in ordinary
time
RED- symbol of blood, it is used on the Feast of the Lord’s Cross
and Passion, on the Feast of the Apostles and of all the martyrs.
Also used on the Pentecost and in Masses of the Holy Spirit
VIOLET- symbol of penance and mourning, it is used during
Advent and Lent, during funeral Masses
WHITE- symbol of innocence and triumph, it is used on the Feast
of the Lord, of our Blessed Mother , of all the angels, and of all
saints who were not martyrs.
SPECIAL COLORS
GOLD - symbol of the Kingship of Christ, permitted in special
occasions in place of white, red and green vestments.
