You will work in groups to research and
present from the menu below one of the
illnesses, following the guidelines.
Common viral diseases:

1. Measles
2. Mumps
3. Rubella
4. Diarrhea
5. Poliomylities (Childhood Paralysis)
6. Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)
7. Human Herpesvirus 6 (Roseola)
8. Norovirus
9. Adenovirus
10.Human Parainfluenza Viruses (HPIV)
11.Coxsackievirus (Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease)
12.Varicella-Zoster Virus (Chickenpox)
13.Rhinovirus
14.Influenza (Flu)
15.Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
16.HIV Aids
17.Tuberculosis
18.MPox
Guidelines

1. Groups of 3 or 4
2. Select one of the illnesses from the list and do some research on:
a) the structure and classification of the virus (use images to illustrate it with diagrams showing its
main parts);
b) how it is transmitted;
c) the symptoms;
d) the sequela/sequel it may cause;
e) what the treatment is;
f) what the prevalence of it on the population is (does it affect more adults, teens or children?)
g) outbreaks;
h) statistical data
3. Work on the ways this illness affected the world population and how. Elicit examples.
4. Also, mention ways this illness could have been avoided giving examples of preventive measures.

5. Remember: use images, visuals, texts, videos to illustrate your presentation.

6. All sources must be mentioned. Sources must be reliable. Remember: plagiarism will not be accepted.
Important:
1) All members of the group must speak during the presentation.
2) Each student should talk for about 2 min.
3) Reading at all times is not allowed.
4) In your written presentation, be careful to make clear slides, with concise and revised
language: be attentive to spelling and grammar mistakes.
5) Use images, graphs, charts…make your presentation interesting.
6) Your sources must be mentioned and all of them must be in English.
7) Do not copy and paste. Remember to paraphrase! And, also, to rephrase in order to make
your ideas clear.
8) Send your final and revised slide presentation to your teacher through Teams. It MUST BE
SENT on the day before you have to present.

9) If a member of your group is absent on the day of the presentation, he/she will present
another day, as long as he/she presents a JUSTIFIABLE reason for the absence,.

10) The absentee will present alone on another date,.

11) The group will have to cover for the student who is absent, presenting his/her part as well.
