OBJECTIVE
 In this project a grid based monitoring system and the
interfacing of all the sensors (current sensors and voltage
sensors) will be done with IOT based communication.

 All the data acquired through IOT will be shown on a

webserver.

 To implement a protection control using IOT based

collected data.
ABSTRACT
 Recently , all of the micro grids are using
renewable energy sources (RES).RES are
distributed in nature. Therefore, their control and
monitoring becomes very difficult.
 In this context , IOT based data acquisition
analysis and monitoring can be very cost
effective as compared to SCADA based system.
 Under this project IOT based monitoring and
control system will be designed for a 5 KW grid
interfaced SPV system.

HOW IOT WILL HELP
• IOT increased the use of
wireless technology to
connect power industry
assets and
infrastructure in order to
lower the power
consumption and cost.

• Smart metering
through IOT helps to
reduce operating costs
by managing metering
operations remotely.
ADVANTAGES OF IOT
• Communication: Physical devices stay in touch
with one another leading to greater efficiency
and higher quality. It also allows full
transparency.

• Automated: Due to the overall wireless

infrastructure of these smart devices, it requires
little to no human intervention.

• Information: IoT systems have allowed a greater

flow of information which in turn allows people to
make better decisions.
