IT (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
Information technology (IT) is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data
or information. IT is typically used within the context of business operations as opposed to personal
or entertainment technologies. IT is considered to be a subset of information and communications
technology (ICT).
ITeS (IT enabled SERVICES)
The full form of ITES is Information Technology Enabled Services. The other names of ITES are
remote services or web-enabled services. ITES includes a wide range of approaches and processes
that use IT to enhance and increase an organization's efficiency.
IT enabled SERVICES
The favoured application areas are areas where there is huge amount of data that needs to be processed
and utilised for delivering the results, or the data is the outcome of the service. Some of the most

Outsourcing is an agreement in which one company hires another company to be responsible for a
planned or existing activity that is or could be done internally, and sometimes involves transferring
employees and assets from one firm to another. There are certain terms associated with

CATEGORIES OF ITeS INDUSTRY
There are two types of categories of ITeS industries are:-
Business process outsourcing (BPO):- BPO is a method of subcontracting various
business-related operations to third-party vendors. BPO is deemed "offshore outsourcing" if the
contract is sent to another country where there is political stability, lower labor costs, and/or tax
savings.
Business process management:- Business process management is the discipline in which
people use various methods to discover, model, analyze, measure, improve, optimize, and
automate business processes. Any combination of methods used to manage a company's
business processes is BPM.
BPO INDUSTRY
Business process outsourcing (BPO) is the practice of contracting a specific work process or
processes to an external service provider. The services can include payroll, accounting,
telemarketing, data recording, social media marketing, customer support, and more.
