Reported Speech
What is it?
• These expressions are used when the intention is to reproduce the
speech of third people, that is, to tell what has been said by other
people. It is the ideal discourse model for narrating situations that
have occurred in the past. Understand in the example:
• Direct Speech: I haven't found the book store yet.
• Indirect speech (Reported Speech): She said that she hadn't found
the book store yet.
