INTRODUCTION TO IR

interventional radiology is a medical subspeciality that performs various minimally invasive procedures using
medical imaging guidance such as x-ray ct-sacn fluoroscopy mri and ultrasound.
the concept of ir is to diagnose and treat patients using least invasive techniques currently available in order
to minimize risk to the patients and improve health outcomes.
PERCUTANEOUS BIOPSY
the method or procedure in which we are taking a tiny sample

of tissue from the patients body, using a special needle passed


through the skin.
an interventional radiologist like one of the most expert specializer

the percutaneous abscess drainage the procedure in which we use medical imaging

guidance through the skin into the abscess to remove or drain the infected fluid.
the patients who undergo this procedure are usually hospitalized inform your doctor
