• We can calculate a workday from a date after a specific no. of days by using
WORKDAY Function
• We can use WEEKDAY function to return a number between 1-7 representing the
day of week.
• By default, WEEKDAY returns 1 for Sunday and 7 for Saturday, but this is
configurable.
• We can use YEAR, MONTH, DAY functions to return the year, month and day
corresponding to a date in Excel.
• The DATE Function can be used to combine to get a date with Year, Month and Day
as Input.
Difference Between two dates
• The DATEDIF Function can be used to calculate difference between two dates. The
difference may be calculated in terms of Year, Month or Days.

Converting Serial No. into Time and vis a versa
• The Time Formats, when formatted as General will show a serial no. Basically it’s a
calculation of Time starting from 1/1/1900 00:00 till specified time. It can be
formatted using Time Formats.
• Similarly, Time can be formatted as a Serial No. by selecting format as General.
• We can use HOUR, MINUTE & SECOND functions to return the Hour, Minute &
Second corresponding to a Time in Excel.
• The TIME Function can be used to combine Hour, Minute & Second as Input to get
a Time.
Time Difference Between two dates with Time
• The Time difference between two dates with time can simply be calculated by
subtraction. It may be formatted as Hours, Minutes and Seconds, if required.
