11
Fossil fuel uses

Transportation

Fossil fuels are the primary source of energy

for transportation, including cars, trucks,
buses, airplanes, and ships.

12
Fossil fuel uses

Heating and cooling

Fossil fuels are used for heating and cooling in

homes, offices, and industrial facilities.

13
Fossil fuel uses

Industrial processes:

Fossil fuels are used as a feedstock in a wide

range of industrial processes, including
manufacturing, chemical production, and
agriculture.

15
The main advantages of
fossil fuels

Abundance

Fossil fuels are abundant and widely

distributed around the world.
This makes them relatively easy to access and
affordable compared to other sources of
energy

16
The main advantages of
fossil fuels

Reliability

Fossil fuels are highly reliable sources of

energy, as they can be stored and transported
easily.
This makes them a preferred choice for
meeting the base load of electricity demand.

17
The main advantages of
fossil fuels

Efficiency

Fossil fuel power plants are highly efficient

and can produce large amounts of energy
with minimal waste.

18
The main advantages of
fossil fuels

Economic benefits

The fossil fuel industry provides jobs and

economic benefits to many countries around
the world

Environmental impacts

20
The main disadvantages
of fossil fuels

Health impacts

Fossil fuels can have negative impacts on

human health, particularly through air
pollution and the release of harmful chemicals
during the extraction, transportation, and
refining process.

21
The main disadvantages
of fossil fuels

Non-renewable

Fossil fuels are finite resources and will

eventually run out, making it important to
transition to more sustainable and renewable
sources of energy.

22
The main disadvantages
of fossil fuels

Price volatility

Fossil fuel prices can be volatile and are

subject to supply and demand fluctuations,
geopolitical tensions, and other factors that
can affect their availability and price.

23
The main disadvantages
of fossil fuels

Geopolitical risks

Countries that rely heavily on fossil fuel

imports may be vulnerable to geopolitical risks
such as supply disruptions, price shocks, and
conflicts over resources.

24
The main disadvantages
of fossil fuels

Environmental impacts
Fossil fuels contribute to a range of
environmental problems, including air
pollution, water pollution, and climate
change.
The extraction, transportation, and
combustion of fossil fuels can also have
significant impacts on wildlife, ecosystems,
and natural resources.

Fossil fuel in
some country

•Saudi Arabia
•Russia
•United States
•Canada

26
Saudi Arabia

•Saudi Arabia is the largest producer and

exporter of oil in the world, making up
nearly 16% of global production.

27
Russia

•Russia is the second-largest producer of

oil in the world, accounting for around
12% of global production.

28
The United
States

•The United States is the third-largest

producer of oil in the world, producing
about 10% of global production.

29
Canada

•Canada is the fourth-largest producer of

oil in the world, accounting for around 5%
of global production.

30
Fossil fuel in Egypt

Egypt is a country that heavily relies on fossil fuels to

meet its energy demands. According to the U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA), Egypt is the largest
non-OPEC oil producer in Africa and the second-largest
natural gas producer on the continent after Algeria.
The main fossil fuels in Egypt are oil and natural gas. Oil
production is centered in the Gulf of Suez, while natural
gas is produced in the Nile Delta and the Mediterranean
Sea. Egypt's proven oil reserves were estimated at 4.4
billion barrels as of 2021, while its proven natural gas
reserves were estimated at 77.2 trillion cubic feet.
In recent years, Egypt has made efforts to diversify its
energy mix by investing in renewable energy sources
such as wind and solar power. However, fossil fuels still
account for the majority of Egypt's energy consumption,
and the country continues to explore for new oil and gas
reserves.

The Future of
Energy
•The world is gradually shifting away from fossil
fuels and towards renewable energy sources.
Governments around the world are introducing
policies to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels
and increase their use of renewable energy. This
is being driven by concerns about climate
change, air pollution and other environmental
issues.
•The future of energy will be a mix of renewable
and non-renewable sources. Renewable energy
sources such as wind, solar and hydropower will
play an increasingly important role, while fossil
fuels will continue to be an important part of the
global energy mix. Therefore, it is important to
find ways to reduce their environmental impacts
and make them more sustainable.
