STRING THEORY
So what is String Theory?-A Theory of
everything OŔ, “A Unified Theory” “There exists a dimension which we can’t observe nor feel” this is a bizarre theory mostly theories like this don’t get attention but this one in particular got a lot of attention . Why? -Theodor Kaluza 1907 Was a breakthrough year for year for physics as recently a theoretical physicist named Einstein introduced his theory of special relativity to the world so he decided to take his next big step which was to enter into the world of ‘GRAVITY’ Even though he figured how apples hit people’s head, how planetary motion works and many more what he failed to mention what created gravity OR “ How The Sun Which Is 93 Million Miles Away Can Exert Its Influence On The Earth” was Einstein’s question Modern Gravity AKA “General Theory Of Relativity”
How does this connect to Kaluza?
ELECTROMAGNETIC FORCE Kaluza was is search of a unified theory under which everything in the nature can be explained using on theory or one grand equation so he wondered OR questioned … But there was a problem Einstein had already used Space and Time to explain gravity so what could he do to explain electromagnetism? WHEN WE HEAR THIS THEORY MOST PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THESE TWO QUESTIONS 1)If there is another dimension where is it and why can’t we see it 2)Does this ‘Theory’(by Kaluza) actually work in detail (or is it just a theory like Newton's Corpuscular Theory ) -OSKAR KLEIN A new era of scientists wanted to unify the laws of physics and this is called string theory which at first sight has nothing to with these extra dimensions and is very simple - elementary particles are made by different strings vibrating differently but instead of producing musical notes they produce tiny bits of energy, these strings are the basic fundamental particles of the universe which is uncuttable or indivisible making up the universe There is unification here as it describes matter particles like electrons and quarks and radiation particles like gravitons an photons but there is a catch which is that when we enter into mathematics of string theory it doesn't work in a world with 3 dimensions Even if this numbers slightly changed the universe as we wouldn’t exist so question now is why do these numbers have these values? or why is it so String theory suggests that these 20 perfect? numbers are so perfect because of these extra dimensions String theory suggests that the 20 numbers are reflections on how strings can vibrate differently and also the vibrational patterns of the strings are controlled by the extra dimensions so in theory if we are able know the extra dimensions we would be able to know the vibrational pattern so we can calculate the 20 values and compare to the actual values and if it is right then it would be the first fundamental theory on the structure universe on the way how it is THANK YOU By: Bhavesh And Saathvik
