Objectives
• To revive the passion of letter writing and to develop the art of
writing letters.
• To enable the students to write letters, express their feelings
and communicate ideas.
• To enable students to analyse and compare various informal
and formal letters and note differences of conventions,
vocabulary, style and tone.
• To enable the students to write formal letters to people in
immediate and extended social and academic environment for
diverse purposes.

Types of letters
Formal – To officials / superiors / to the subordinates / requests /
complaints / applications / enquiries / editors etc.
