EXTERIOR ANGLES OF A POLYGON
As all the interior angles of a polygon are equal, all exterior angles will also be
equal.
For Ex:
PROPERTIES OF QUADRILATERALS
TRAPEZIUM:-A Quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides
is called a Trapezium . It has 2 diagonals , opposite angles are
equal
and they exterior angles add up to 180
In the given figure AB || CD.
KITE:-A Quadrilateral in which on pair of adjacent sides are equal to
each other and the other pair of adjacent angles are also equal to
each other.
PARELLELOGRAM:-A Quadrilateral in which both the pairs of opposite
sides are parallel is called a Parallelogram . In the adjacent figure ,
ABCD is a parallelogram with ABCD is a parallelogram with AB || CD
and AD || BC.
PROPERTY 1:-Opposite sides are equal . AB=CD;BC=AD
PROPERTY 2:-Opposite angles are equal .
Angle B is equal to Angle D and Angle A is
Equal to Angle C
PROPERTY 3:-The adjacent angles add upto
180.
PROPERTY 4:-The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
SPECIAL TYPES OF
PARALLELOGRAMS
RHOMBUS :- A Parallelogram in which a pair of adjacent sides are equal is
called a Rhombus . As all sides of a rhombus are equal , it satisfies all the
properties of a Parallelogram.
RECTANGLE:-A Parallelogram in which one angle is 90 is called a
Rectangle. For ex:- Adjacent angles add up to 180 as same as
Parallelogram and opposite angles are equal i.e. 90 = 90
Some other Properties are :-
Diagonals bisect each other
Diagonals are Equal.
Square:-A Rhombus i.e. a special Parallelogram with each of it’s
angle 90 is called a Square . All sides are equal and its angles are
equal too . Even the opposite sides are parallel are same as
Parallelogram.
Some other properties are :-
All sides are equal
Each angle measures of 90
Diagonals are of equal length
Diagonals bisect each other at 90
