THREE LAWS OF MOTION
BONNIE RICK C. PATIÑO
Review What is Enertia?
• Enertia is the tendency of objects in motion to
stay in motion and objects at rest to stay at rest, unless a force causes its speed or direction to change. Objectives
• State the Law of Acceleration.
• Discuss the relationship between net force on an object and its acceleration, and between the mass of an object and its acceleration. • Cite some applications of this law in our daily life. Study the picture

“ You may be bigger but I am

The acceleration of an object as produced by a net
force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. How is acceleration related to the object’s mass and the amount of force exerted?
if you apply a greater force to an object, its acceleration
increases. Conversely, if the mass of the object is greater, the acceleration will be less for the same amount of force. In other words, heavier objects require more force to achieve the same acceleration as lighter ones. What relationship exists between acceleration and force; force and mass?
• The relationships between acceleration, force, and
mass are described by Newton's Second Law of Motion. This law can be stated as: • Force=Mass×Acceleration Here’s how each relationship works: • Acceleration and Force: The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the force applied to it. This means that if you increase the force applied to an object, its acceleration will increase, provided the mass of the object remains constant. • Force and Mass: The force applied to an object is directly proportional to its mass. This means that for a given acceleration, an increase in mass requires a proportionally larger force to achieve that acceleration. Conversely, for a given force, a larger mass will result in a smaller acceleration. How is the second law of motion applied to everyday occurrences? 1. Driving a Car: When you press the accelerator, you apply a force to the car. This force increases the car's acceleration, making it go faster. The car’s mass also plays a role; a heavier car requires more force to achieve the same acceleration as a lighter one. 2. Pushing a Shopping Cart: When you push a shopping cart, the force you apply causes the cart to accelerate. If the cart is empty, it accelerates more quickly compared to when it is full of groceries. This is because the mass of the cart affects how much acceleration you can achieve with a given force. Evaluation
