User and Role Management
• SU01: The core transaction for creating, editing, and displaying user master records.
• SU10: For mass user maintenance.
• PFCG: The Role Maintenance transaction, used to create and manage authorization
roles.
• User Information System (SUIM): A comprehensive tool for reporting and analysis of
user administration-related data.
Types of Users
• Dialog Users: For interactive, GUI-based system access.

Backup and Recovery
Backup involves creating copies of data to safeguard against data loss.
Backup Types – Full , incremental, Differential, Log backups

EMC, IBM and veritas.
Recovery is the process of restoring data from backups in case of data loss or
corruption
 Database Recovery – Full restore , Point-in-Time recovery.
 SAP System recovery – SAP system copy and selective restore
PATCHING AND UPGRADES
 Patch Management – Applying updates to fix bugs, improve performance and
enhance security. The types of patches are kernel Patches, Support Packages,
Security patches, Enhancement packages
 Upgrades – Moving a new version of software that includes major changes and
new features . There are 2 types of upgrade major and minor
