•What is a non-linear text?
Non-linear Texts
• Non-linear texts are simply the type
of texts that are not made up of
words. If there would be words, they
are not in paragraphs or in any form
of long sentences and such.
• This is also in a form of a passage that
exists in a form of not written but
graphics.
examples: graphs, tables,
photographs, illustrations, and charts.

Why use graphs and charts?
• It help readers to get ideas and
information from a presented data;
however, it may be challenging for you to
interpret the data.
• It is useful because they can present more
pieces of information without using too
much space, or too many paragraphs.
• They simply have unique organization of
the data when illustrating a concept or
explaining a subject.
Illustrations and Photographs
•Illustrations are drawings or sketches of something.
•Photographs are the snapshots of a thing, a person, an animal, a
place, etc.

• This type of visual material is more on statistical data.
• This will allow learners to scan and interpret data more quickly.
