ASPICE INTRODUCTION

ASPICE - Automotive Software Process improvement and capability determination

Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) is a guideline that helps automotive suppliers meet software development requirements set by OEMs
(Original Equipment Manufacturers). It stands for Automotive Software Performance Improvement and Capability determination.

Why AUTOSPICE ??
- Specific Process strengthening Automotive needs
- Should be capable of handling/involving multiple stakeholders across multi organizations
- Formulate, Convene and accomplish results in Engineering
- Provide Traceability across phases
- Evolve Predictability in outcome of Engineering activities
- Increased confidence to customers
- Repeatable Success
- People Independent

Automotive SPICE
Large German and international manufacturers require their suppliers and sub-
suppliers to prove a predefined maturity level (capability level) in product
development. Without this proof, there is often a risk of exclusion from future
contracts.

In addition to the apparent operational aspect, an ASPICE® implementation can also

serve as a basis for quality improvements, risk, and cost reductions in the medium to
long term.
ASPICE Services
 Gap Analysis and Recommendations

 Process Definition and Implementation

 Process Implementation reviews

 Model/MOCK Assessments

 Certification Assistance ( INTACS, KM, IMPRONOVA)

CAPABILITY LEVELS

• Level 0 - Basic/Incomplete. Somewhat meet ASPICE requirements.

• Level 1 - Performed. Almost or entirely achieve ASPICE requirements but may have components
missing in the process.
• Level 2 - Managed. Deliver the work products reliably and almost or entirely achieve ASPICE
standards in addition to the work products.
• Level 3 - Established. Established and set the performance standards for the organization and
continuously monitor them for improvements.
• Level 4 - Predictable. Beyond having established performance standards, analyze outcomes and
produce predictable results.
• Level 5 - Innovating. Process is consistent, predictable, and continuously improved.
ISO 26262
Functional Safety

Functional safety is absence of
Hazards caused by
