INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND RURAL TECHNOLOGY PRAYAGRAJ - 211002, UTTAR PRADESH (INDIA) INTRODUCTION OF PROJECT DATA ANALYSIS 1. In 2019, the OTT market was valued at 85.16 Billion USD and it is expected to reach 194.20 Billion USD by 2025 . 2. This study presents an analysis of four major OTT platforms — Netflix, Amazon Prime , Hulu and Disney+. Along with movie datasets for each platform, we incorporated with some additional datasets: the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes movie dataset to investigate the distribution of movie genres, age limits, and their average ratings. OBJECTIVE 1. An exploratory data analysis of OTT platform’s TV Shows and Movie titles. 2. We investigated different OTT platform data sets to provide users with insights into each platform to determine which services to subscribe to. Amongst multiple factors affecting online streaming subscriptions, we mainly analyzed age, genre, and ratings. 3. This project is an attempt to resolve the choice dilemma of OTT platforms through data analysis. Technology Used in OTT’s DATA ANALYSIS
1. PYTHON is a computer programming language often used to build websites and
software , automate tasks , and conduct data analysis. 2. Python is a multi-purpose programming language widely used for its flexibility , as well as its extensive collection of libraries , which are valuable for DATA ANALYSIS . MODULES USED 1. PANDAS : Pandas is an open source library in Python. It provides ready to use high- performance data structures and data analysis tools. 2. MATPLOTLIB : Matplotlib is a cross-platform , data visualization and graphical plotting library for Python. Matplotlib offers a range of data visualization options. For this post, we will use the following ones. •Pie Chart •Bar Chart NOTEBOOK USED : - Jupyter Steps of experiment 1. Over-the-top (OTT) data is information about services which stream content using an internet connection instead of by satellite or cable. OTT datasets are used by the providers and marketers of televised content to analyze a platform or provider's performance in the OTT market. 2. The experiment consisted of mainly two steps: Data Preparation and Data Visualization. 3. Data preparation is the process of cleaning, standardizing and enriching raw data to make it ready for use in analytics and data science. 4. Data Visualization is the technique where the raw data is presented into a more insightful one that is derived from different data streams. It analyze the data and looks into the certain patterns & behaviors that improves with better business decision making.
