Light

The document discusses various properties of light including: - Light travels in a straight line until it encounters an object where it can be absorbed, reflected, or refracted. - Reflection occurs when light bounces off a surface, while refraction occurs when light changes speed and direction when passing from one medium to another. - Shadows are formed when light is blocked by an opaque or translucent object, and their size and shape depend on factors like the distance and orientation of the light source and object. - The document provides examples of reflection, refraction, and shadows and assigns students a task to create shadows of different sizes and shapes using an object and light source.

Characteristics of light
• Light travels in straight line
• Light can be reflected
• Light can be bent / refracted

Light when hits an object is either

• Absorbed
• Reflected
• Or pass through an object.

ASSIGHMENT
MAKING SHADOW
1. Size of the shadow depends on the distance between the object and the light source.
2. Shape of the shadow depends on how you place the object in front of the light source.
Different position of the object will give you different shape of shadow.

Your Task:
Choose one object and create a shadow of it with difference size and shape .
