Browsers
Definition
It is a software or computer application that, through a
graphical interface, allows users to move or navigate
through the web using hyperlinks and URL addresses.
The browser communicates with the servers using
HTTP language, receives files in HTML code, translates
it and displays it on the screen to the user.

What are its main elements?

The basic equipment of each browser includes the following elements:

•address bar to write the URL,
•buttons to navigate forward and backward, to refresh or reload or to stop
charging,
•browser home page button,
•function to set bookmarks.
2
How do they work?
When you type a URL into the browser, it requests the page from the
destination server. The server responds by returning content in the form of
HTML code, images, and other resources. Each resource has a unique
identification, the so-called URI (Uniform Resource Identifier). Based on the
specifications given by the HTML and CSS files, the browser interprets all the
content and represents it so that we can see and use the website as on our
screen.

Main Browsers
Google Chrome: Created in 2008, it gained followers thanks to its
speed and offer of extensions until it became the undisputed leader
in the web browser market. Currently, more than 66%, that is, two
out of every three users use this browser.
• Mozilla Firefox: In the second position of the most used
browsers, we find Mozilla Firefox with 10% of users. Its main
characteristic is the presence of free and open source software,
which makes it more positive in terms of privacy. 3
•Internet Explorer: developed by
Microsoft, it was originally the most
used search engine in the world as it
was the browser that was installed by
default in Windows operating systems.
However, the appearance of
competitors and certain features that
have not completely convinced users
have caused the number of users to fall
drastically and currently does not
exceed 7%.

•Safari: the last browser on our list is

the software designed by Apple for the
Mac Os operating system and later for
iPhone phones, it has always stood out
for its very polished design.

E-Mail
What is It?
It is a method of communication that uses electronic devices to deliver
messages over computer networks. It refers to both the delivery system
and the individual messages that are sent and received.

History
The most important antecedent of email emerged in 1962, with the IBM
7090 computer, which allowed the interaction of different users from
remote terminals.
However, in 1965 the MAIL service emerged, a true precursor of email,
which allowed the sending and receiving of messages between users of this
computer.
Ray Tomlinson was the creator of today’s email. With the arrival and
massification of the Internet, email became a popular and everyday tool. It
was first offered for free in 1971 and by 1977 it was the standard
information exchange mechanism worldwide in online communities.

5
Parts of an email
•Inbox. The virtual space where the received
messages rest, according to a chronological or
personalized order, either in general or
organized in folders.
•Outbox. Similarly, messages to be sent rest in
this virtual space, before being classified as
“sent.”
•Sent folder. Where the history of letters and
documents sent is located, organized
chronologically.
•Spam. This is the name given to spam,
usually containing misleading advertising or
promotions, which is usually filtered from the
“legal” content of the mailbox.

6
Addressee. The email address of the person to
whom the email will be sent.
Affair. Space for a brief description of the content
of the message, as a primer, that the recipient can
read without having to open the email completely.
Message body. The written information that you
wish to transmit.
Attached files. The additional data that you want
to transmit along with the message, as annexes.
• CC/BCC. Acronyms for Carbon Copy and Hidden
Carbon Copy, they allow the sender the
possibility of also sending an identical copy to a
third user, either visible to everyone (cc), or
invisible (cc).

7
Advantages Disadvantages

•Speed •Lack of interactivity

•Attached data •You need an Internet connection
•Security •Need some electronic device
•Versatility
•Low cost
•Ecological
•Global
