OBJECTIVES
1. identify farm tools and equipment according to use;
2. use appropriate tools or equipment for the job requirement according to
manufacturer’s specification and instruction;
3. conduct pre-operational check-up in line with the manufacturer’s manual;
4. perform routine check-up and maintenance;
5. clean tools and equipment after use in line with farm procedures;
6. perform preventive maintenance by following the procedures in sharpening
and oiling farm tools and equipment;
7. store tools and equipment in designated areas in line with farm procedures;
8. choose the correct and proper storage of tools and equipment.
Farm tools, implements, and equipment play
very important role in agricultural crop
production. In order to do crop production
operation successful, operator must have a
good working knowledge of the tools,
implements and equipment.
Farm Implements
These are accessories which are being pulled by working animals or mounted
to machineries (hand tractor, tractor) which are usually used in the preparation
of land. These are usually made of a special kind of metal.
Plows (Araro)
1. A farm implements
either pulled by a working
animal or a tractor and is
used for tilling large areas,
making furrows and inter
row cultivation.

Harrow
The native wooden harrow is
made of wood with a metal
teeth and pulled by a carabao
while disc harrow is made of
metal mounted to a tractor. It
is used for tilling and
pulverizing the soil.

pulverizing the soil.
Hand tools are usually light and are used
without the help of animals or machines. They
are being used in performing farm activities
which involve small areas like school garden and
home garden.
