CORRELATIONAL RESEARCH
• A correlational research design
investigates relationships between two variables (or more) without the researcher controlling or manipulating any of them. It's a non-experimental type of quantitative research. Methods that can be used in collecting data: • naturalistic observation • the survey method • and archival research Examples for quantitative research • reveal the statistical relationship between high-income earners and relocation
• Is there a relationship between screen time and eye strain?
• What is the link between video games and IQ levels? • Is there a correlation between loneliness and tech dependence? • Is there a relationship between smartphone usage and sleep quality? For qualitative research
• If there are multiple pizza trucks in the area and
each one has a different jingle, we would memorize it all and relate the jingle to its pizza truck. This is what correlational research precisely is, establishing a relationship between two variables, “jingle” and “distance of the truck” in this particular example. THANK YOU
