Solar Energy

Solar energy is generated from sunlight and collected by solar panels to produce electricity. It is a renewable source of energy available worldwide. The document discusses the positive environmental impacts of solar energy such as being sustainable and reducing electricity bills. It also addresses factors like the variety of applications, affordable maintenance, and technological advancements. While solar systems have high upfront costs, the energy yield of 250-400 watts per hour makes it worthwhile. Jordan is increasing its use of solar power and aims for 31% of its energy to come from sustainable sources by 2030 due to its warm climate and potential for solar energy production.

Solar energy

Grade 7A
Formative assessment criterion B and C
•What is Solar energy ?
•Solar energy is any type of energy generated
by sunlight that is collected by solar panels.
Which is then transferred to electricity and
other things.
introduction •Brief summary about Solar energy:
•Solar energy is a renewable source of energy
that can be used in any part of the world.
Unlike other sources of energy, we can't run
out of solar energy.Solar energy will be
available as long as we have the sun, so
sunlight will be available to us for a long time

Sub-question 1
Explain the environment impact of solar
energy positively on the environment.
• Advantages of Solar Energy :
• 1. Sustainable resource: Solar panels produce energy from the sun. It is a
renewable source of energy that can be used in any part of the world ( but it
is more effective in warm temperatures). Solar energy is also good because it
can’t finish unlike the other renewable resources.
• 2. Decreasing the price of the electricity bill: By using any solar system,
you’ll be able to reduce your electricity bills by using the energy the system
generates. This will depend on the electricity usage and the size of your solar
system. A large solar power system can help lower your energy bills by
providing a lot of energy.

• 3. Variety of usages: Variety of ApplicationsThere are many uses for solar energy. You
can produce heat or electricity. Solar energy can be used to purify water in areas with a
shortage of clean water, generate electricity in places without access to the electrical grid,
and start satellites in space.
• 4. Affordable Maintenance: solar energy systems don't need much upkeep. They only
need to be kept moderately clean, so a few times a year of cleaning will do. If you're
unsure, you can always rely on specialized cleaning businesses, which provide this
service for between £25 and £35 per visit. Manufacturers of reliable solar panels
typically provide a 20–25 year warranty.
• 5. Technology development: there is development in solar panels where about each
period of time scientists develop on the solar panels making them better and affordable
with the advancement of technology and science.

Brief summary
ADVANTAGES
o Reduce gas immersions from greenhouse gases.
o Decrease climate change in the environment
o Reduce and decrease water usage during energy extraction
o Make the quality of air better and fresher
o They work better in a sunny hot weather
o Decrease the carbon footprint which is decreasing the amount
of carbon dioxide in the air

Sub-question 3
Describe the availability of solar energy
in Jordan.
• Jordan used more renewable energy last year than in previous years. This is because
renewable energy sources like wind and solar are becoming more common. In 2021,
renewable energy made up 26% of Jordan’s total energy production, which is more than
natural gas. This means that a lot of electricity can be produced using renewable energy
sources. In addition to that Jordan now had set a goal for the amount of sustainable energy
in Jordan to reach 31% from now till 2030.
• Solar energy is becoming more popular in Jordan because we don't have any oil or gas
reserves. Some companies provide solar panels for people's homes. Further more there is
now several companies that work on producing solar power systems. Which made the
demand and percentage of Solar energy increase in Jordan. People also started using solar
power in Jordan because Jordan has a warm temperature with loads of sunlight in day time,
even in winter there is sunlight but it is not that effective like the sun energy in summer.

summary
To conclude, I chose solar energy as a resource
to depend on based on the research I had done
in the past slides. So I would hope that you
would chose Solar energy to power the
company based on the information I had just
presented.
