Hazardous Area Classification

Hazardous area classification is performed to analyze and classify areas where explosive gas atmospheres may occur in order to prevent explosions. It defines areas where combustible atmospheres are present so that companies can select appropriate electrical equipment that can operate safely. This reduces the likelihood of explosive atmospheres caused by flammable gases, vapors, and dusts from normal operations or unplanned events. Properly classifying hazardous areas and materials is important for safety and handling them correctly.

Why is Hazardous Area Classification performed?
HAC is an important first step reducing the likelihood of occurrence explosive atmospheres result from the
presence of flammable gases, vapour and dusts. These may arise from constant activities; from time to time in
normal operation; or as the result of some unplanned event. In order to prevent such occasions, we use area
classification to analyse and classify the environment where explosive gas atmospheres may occur.

It enable us to define areas in which combustible atmospheres are present, process companies will be able
to make the correct choice of electrical equipment to ensure that the equipment can operate safely in that
environment and does not cause fires or explosions, also increase the effectiveness of the hot work
processes.

Hello! I’m
Hazmat
(Hazardous
material)

HazMat consists a lot of hazardous materials, like flammable liquids, gases, explosives, which means
that we have to take extra care when we send him somewhere. He can pose a significant safety risk
for the environment and workers. That’s why, Hazmat and his friends should be properly classified and
handled.
