Basic Model of Design

How we do that is by looking at the current state and
moving towards the future state through a process of transformation.

It takes a user perspective
to explore and design new solutions

What is a system?
A set of things interconnected in such a way that they
produce their own pattern of behavior
over time.
What is a systems map?
A systems map is a visual representation of underlying
complexity that helps us identify insights in ways that
would not have been possible from a single perspective
A set of methods and tools to help us make sense of complex challenges, to reduce
the otherwise paralyzing mess into usable maps that help surface intervention points
to changing the system.

Leverage points

improvements
Shallow leverage points

Deep leverage points
the deeper you intervene in the iceberg, the

system need to be addressed.

ISSUE MAP
What is an issue map?
An ‘Issue Map’ allows a larger issue to be broken down into
smaller contributory problems or factors, covering social,
economic, institutional, political, technological and
environmental aspects of a particular issue.
It helps identify a more accessible entry point through which a
much larger issue can be tackled.

USER JOURNEY MAP
The User Journey Map enables you to map the experience journey of your user – the positives
and the negatives.
These experiences are intangible and mapping helps to make them visible. It helps to build empathy
with users and develop a shared understanding across stakeholders.
