Let's start the
lesson!
Prioritize tasks to focus your energy effectively and
work towards your goals amid life's responsibilities.

As life gets busier, it's important to find ways to juggle

everything. Building good time management and
organization skills can help you use your time wisely. A
helpful tip is to set SMART Goals. This way, you have a
clear plan to follow, making it easier to finish what you
start.
WHAT'S A SMART GOAL?
Specific: What do you want to accomplish? Who needs to be
included? When do you want to do this? Why is this a goal?

Measurable: How can you measure progress and know if you’ve

successfully met your goal?
r
Achievable: Do you have the skills required to achieve the goal?
If not, can you obtain them? What is the motivation for this goal?
Is the amount of effort required on par with what the goal will
achieve?

Relevant: Why am I setting this goal now? Is it aligned with

overall objectives?

Time-bound: What’s the deadline and is it realistic

TACKLING LARGE PROJECTS

When faced with a big project, like a long essay or

complex presentation, it can be hard to know where to
start, and the task can feel overwhelming.

It can be helpful to break the project down into smaller pieces that feel
more manageable. Think of a logical order to complete these tasks and
consider the estimated time
to complete each step.
TOP TIP

If you are feeling overwhelmed,

consider talking over the project with
someone you trust, taking a step away,
or practicing mindfulness exercises.
TACKLING LARGE PROJECTS

Imagine you have a big essay due in two weeks. To get

started, you could create an action plan to complete small
tasks one-by-one.

• Research and decide on a topic

• Create an outline
• Write a topic sentence
• Write 2 sentences for each paragraph

You would then continue to create small, manageable steps until the essay is
complete.
PLANNING AND TOOLS
The key to time management often starts with a well thought-out plan.
Writing tasks down on paper or a computer can help you visualize what you have coming up, allowing you to formulate a plan of attack. Try
and find a way to organize your goals that works best for you.
