A noun is a naming word that is used to


identify a person (Gabriel), place (Kensington
Primary), object (book) and animal (dog).

• Common nouns [brother] or proper nouns [Charlie].

• Countable nouns [orange] or uncountable [sugar].

• Concrete nouns [table] or abstract nouns [love].

• Compound nouns [cousin] or collective nouns [family].
