POINTS TO REMEMBER

1. Use a soft flexible type of tape measure so it will be


flat on the part to be measured.
Work in pairs.

2. Let your model/client stand straight while taking


measurement.

3. Remove extra bulk pockets like wallet, cellphone


and hanky.

4. Tie a string on the exact waistline, as a point of reference


while taking measurement

5. Start with either horizontal or vertical measurements

6. When measuring, insert your two fingers under the tape measure
to serve as an allowance or ease.

Taking body measurements is a very


important step in garment construction

Much of the success in garments
construction depends upon the taking of
accurate measurement that will result in a well
fitted garment and constructed dress which
