Standard Open Loop Hydraulic Circuits Review

The document summarizes standard open loop hydraulic circuits used in drilling operations. It is divided into two parts that review the power pack and control cab circuits, and well control, coiled tubing reel, and injector head circuits. The power pack section describes the injector, reel, priority, levelwind override, blowout preventer, and auxiliary circuits. The control cab section shows the different controls and gauges used to monitor operations. The second part provides diagrams of the blowout preventer, stripper, reel, and injector head circuits, and animations explaining how the reel and injector head functions during pickup and laydown and reeling in operations.

The back-pressure (80psi) on the return line feeds the motor

How does the injector Head Work? Currently, 60 GPM is On & 30 GPM is Off (18), Low Speed (27) Monsun Tison (22) get 450 psi from the priority Circuit via Reducing valve (25) Moving the Monsun Tison to RIH/POOH position, result in shifting the Husco Valve(9) The Husco Valve direct the flow to the injector head drive motor (38) the 60 GPM pump excess flow and 30 GMP pump flow is directed to the reservoir 175 psi is maintained in the return line via the back pressure valve(10) The injector brake will be fully released by applying 600 psi via the reducing valve(35) 450 to 500 psi pilot pressure from the motor inlet is required to open the conterbalance valve(31)

SPOOLING REEL WORKS Back Tension AS MOTOR Spooling

How does the injector Head circuit run the spooling reel? When the spooling reel motor works as motor, the injector circuit works normal (see the injector circuit animation) Note that the high low selector is not active. Note that valve No. 7 ( Spooling Relief control valve) should be open which activate the spooling valve. During spooling, 30 GPM on position, 60 GPM-Off position.

SPOOLING REEL WORKS AS PUMP

How does the injector Head circuit run the spooling reel? The circuit shows the What will happen, when the spooling system when the hydraulicreel used to apply back tension? spooling reel works as motor When the spooling used to apply back tension, The spooling motor works as a pump. The spooling motor pushes the fluid backward through the spooling relief valve (6). Both 60 GPM and 30 GPM get vented through their relief valve The back pressure (175 psi) on the return line feeds the motor
