The proposed study targeted the construction of a new water facility that can purify
rainwater at the Technological University of the Philippines – Cavite. Assessing its long-
term advantage for human being as well as with the environment, this will provide
opportunities and knowledge concerning the current situation of water in the country and
allow the students, teachers, parents, school officials, and residents of the community in
Salawag, Dasmarinas who are concerned about the school's wellbeing utilize a fresh and
clean water without wasting the main water resources. Using This water facility will
contribute to the conservation of water and guarantee that the school has adequate, non-
contaminated water which is suitable for all living things and safe to use for both students
and instructors in the university.
RATIONALE/SIGNIFICANCE
According to a study made by a non-profit organization called water.org, about three million
Filipino relies on unsustainable water sources and about seven million lacks access to it. In a data
gathered by cavite.gov.ph, Cavite belongs to a type 1 climate based on the categorization of
Philippines by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration
(PAGASA). Type 1 climate means that Cavite experiences dry season from November to April
and wet season for the rest of the year.
Philippines experiences water crisis and rainfall so, by convenience and reliability, the
researchers decided to use rainwater as a water source. Using mainly sand and activated carbon
the researchers will develop a filter that will make rainwater clean and usable for utility purposes.
SCIENTIFIC BASIS/THEORETICAL
FRAMEWORK
Water is an essential part of our daily lives, experiencing water crisis, water shortage, and
usage of contaminated water should not be tolerated. According to the Philippines Statistics
Authority (PSA), Philippines mainly relies on groundwater for our domestic, industrial, and
commercial usage of water. Exploring other sources of water should be a priority and the
researcher’s project will rely on filtration system and rainwater.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
METHODOLOGY
In this study, the researchers will have the collection of data through the
filtrated water by measuring the different levels of contaminants, PPM,
acid content, color, and other variables to ensure the safety of the water
using modern apparatus and/or equipment. This will be done through the
filtration system the researchers have devised using simple, cheap, yet
high quality materials that will, in the long run, be very useful for every
student in the university.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS (6Ps)
POTENTIAL IMPACTS
Social Impacts Economic Impacts
Financial Plan
• In this section of the plan, the researchers have discussed about the risks when it comes to
financial problems and limitations. They have discussed that in order for the project to
flourish, they will use high quality materials with a reasonable financial range or price. With
this, they will still have the procedures of the project, safety of the people, and the result
itself on a very high standard and capability with no risk of wasting large amount of money.
Environmental Plan
• In this section of the plan, the researchers have discussed about the risks the environment
can have before, during, and after the project. The researchers aim to use eco- friendly
materials in order to lessen the effects it can have in the environment.
Social Plan
• In this part of the plan, the researchers aim to have a project that will not only help the
students to have access to water in the university, but to also have a facility dedicated only
for his sole purpose on an easy to reach and accessible for everyone.
LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECT
The risk enlisted on the project is mainly the safety of the facility itself.
