This document provides information about various shapes including their definitions and formulas for area and perimeter. It discusses the following shapes: square, rectangle, circle, triangle, and rhombus. For each shape, it gives the definition and then the formulas to calculate the area and perimeter in terms of the shape's attributes like sides, radius, base, height, or diagonals. The goal is to present the essential geometric properties and calculations for common shapes.

SQUARE
In geometry, a square is a regular quadrilateral, which means that it has a four equal
sides and four equal angles. It can also be defined as a rectangle with two equal-
length adjacent sides.

RECTANGLE
In geometry, a rectangle is a quadrilateral, with four right angles. It can also be
defined as: an equiangular quadrilateral, since equiangular means that all of its angles
are equal; or a parallelogram containing a right angle.

CIRCLE
A circle is a shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a
given point, the centre. The distance between any point of the circle and the centre is
called radius. Usually, the radius is required to be a positive number. A circle with r=0
is a degenerate case.

TRIANGLE
A triangle is a polygon with three edges and three vertices. It is one of the basic
shapes in geometry. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted ABC. In
geometry, any three points, when non-collinear, determine a unique triangle and
simultaneously, a unique plane.

RHOMBUS
In geometry, a rhombus is a quadrilateral whose four sides all have the same length.
Another name is equilateral quadrilateral, since equilateral means that all of its sides
are equal in length.
