Each student will be required to raise

1 to 5 (Broiler) Day old chicks for forty-five (45)


days
Activity Guide:
• Raise the day-old-chick in a cage or poultry house.
• Weekly (every Saturday) upload to FB Page three
(3) pictures of the activities such as cleaning,
feeding, etc.
• Weigh your chicks at the start and end (45 days)
of the observation period – February to April 2023.
• Record all activities done using the following
format:

Rationale:
Swine production plays a major role in ensuring the country's food security by providing about 60% of
the total animal meat consumption of the Filipinos. Today, the tradition of breeding purebred pigs is usually
reserved for the production of replacement breeding animals that will eventually be used for crossbreeding
programs or for the exhibition of livestock in fairs and livestock shows.

Swine production plays a major role in ensuring the country's food security by providing about 60% of the
total animal meat consumption of the Filipinos.

• To produce crossbred by crossing indigenous gilts with exotic boars and to
assess their performance in respect of their efficiency of feed conversion,
production and reproduction. To evolve economic pig ration with locally
available feed ingredients, conventional and unconventional.
