Step 5: Push your MENU/CLR button to cycle to the next setting: POWER.

With the

power setting shown, push button 7/CHG to cycle to PA. Your screen will show
SINCGARS Operations Standard Operating POWER=PA when this is complete.
 
Step 8: Push the top right button FREQ and then quickly push the bottom left
Procedure (SOP) button MENU/CLR to clear the zero’s off the screen to enter your frequency.

frequencies:
i. FREQ HOP – Frequency hop or encrypted
ii. SCPT – Single channel plain text

A. LOAD RADIO
Step 1: Turn your control switch to LD. Step 6: Push your MENU/CLR button to cycle to the next setting: MODE.
Step 2: Press the bottom left button, MENU/CLR, to cycle to the first option: Push your 7/CHG button to cycle to the SC setting. Your screen will show
VOLUME. MODE=SC.
Step 3: With the word VOLUME on the screen, push the #9 button. Step 9: While your screen displays “_ _ _ _ _ “ enter the frequency given to
Your screen will show: VOLUME=9 you and press the 2 nd button from the right on the bottom row, STO to store
your new frequency. If done correctly, the screen will now display your
frequency.
 
Step 10: If all steps are done correctly, your screen will look like this:

Step 4: Push your MENU/CLR button to cycle to the next setting: CHANNEL. Your Step 7: Push your MENU/CLR button to cycle to your next setting: COMSEC.
display should read: CHANNEL=1. If it does not, PRESS 1 and it will show: Push your 7/CHG button to cycle to PT. Your screen will show COMSEC=PT.
CHANNEL=1.

Step 11: Turn your control switch to ON and proceed to talk.


 
i. Always set radio to PA or HIGH frequency.
