Types of Data in MS Excel

There are two main classifications of data in Excel - labels and values. Labels cannot be used for calculations, while values include numbers, formulas, and functions that can be used for computations. Formulas and functions always start with an equal sign and have three elements - the equal sign, function/formula name, and arguments/cell addresses. Text, dates, and times are examples of label data in Excel, while numbers, formulas, and functions are examples of value data that can be used for calculations.
