MOTIVATIONAL

BASE SHARED BY
INDIVIDUALS
◦ People may form from group based on their needs,
interest, desires, noble activities, insecurities, or
problem. People who have common hobbies like
gardening, orchid raising, stamp collection, dancing
or studying the Bible find their shared interest a
motive for forcing groups.
◦To them, rituals involved in Marijuana use
became the basis of their friendship and group
indentity. Santos (1984:31-40) argues that this
is an example of deviant group from which can
be traced back to pre-Christian morality.
◦ The size of the group may range from two to a million
members. When it’s has two members, it is called dyad like
in a friendship group. In some cultures, a family with six
members would be considered a large. Leadership, division
of labor and communication patterns change with the size of
a group. When a group is small, members participate in the
same activities when the group is very small, when the
group grows in size, the division of work becomes more
specialized and the structure becomes more formal or rigid.
◦ With increasing size, they need for a more formal type
of leader who will have the authority and power to
direct and influence the behavior of other arises. In a
small group, member may interact equality and
formally with each other, and usually a stabilized line
of communication may exist between particular
position.
◦As the group size increases, communication
becomes more formal and so that the specific
position n within the group may become part of
the group indentity
