Proposal to Graduation Project
Dr. Omar Surkhi
Head Department of Industrial Engineering
March 2023
Description
During this course, the student will have to identify a realistic problem OR an engineering developmental solution
related to the company in which he is trained, in agreement between the company and the supervisor from the
university, and he will analyze and measure (quantitative) the impact of this problem on the company, especially in
the financial aspect, and then develop proposals for solutions Clear scientific engineering to solve this problem, as
well as developing an initial design to solve this problem, including the materials and resources that the company
must provide. And the student will have to write a report in a correct technical style and according to the model
approved by the department, which includes scientific research and a review of previous studies and references
related to the problem. A financial analysis of the expected cost of implementation and the expected profits behind
the solution
Expected outcome
1-Problem Identification or Suggested Development
Identify a realistic problem or an engineering developmental solution related to
the company in which he is trained, in agreement between the company and the
supervisor from the university
2-Impact Analysis
Analyzing and measuring (in numbers) the impact of this problem on the
company, especially in the financial aspect
3-Conceptual Solution Proposal
Develop Conceptual proposal for clear scientific engineering solutions to solve
this problem
3-Intial Design of the Solution
Develop an initial design to solve this problem, including the materials and
resources that the company must provide
First presentation
WD 3/5/2023
Note: at the first presentation the approval document must be signed by the
company
4-Litterature Review
Doing scientific research and reviewing previous studies and references
related to the problem, and this is done in a correct scientific research method
using IEEE style
5-Action Plan
Develop an action plan and a timetable for the stages of implementing the
proposed solution in a scientifically correct manner
6- Financial Analysis
Compile a financial analysis of the expected cost of implementation and the
expected profits from the solution
Final Submission
1- Write a report in a correct technical manner and according to the approved template of the department
2- Final presentation and report submission during Final Exam schedule
Notes :
1- Introduction to Project, Project 1 , Project 2 are all Individual Projects (NO groups)
2- Introduction to Project, Project 1 , Project 2 are all connected and related (one major project)
3- In case project 1 and project 2 are not connected and related (two different projects), the proposal must cover
project 1 and project 2
Evaluation :
Phase 1:
First Proposal (Report and Presentation) 3/5/2023
Pass/Corrections/ Fail
Phase 2:
1. Final Report
2. Final Presentation WD 31/5/2023
3. Supervisor evaluation for this phase
