EAPP Lesson 6

A critique paper is an academic writing genre that briefly and critically summarizes and evaluates a work or concept. It uses a formal academic writing style and clean structure, with a body that contains both a summary and detailed evaluation. The purpose is to gauge the usefulness, creativity, message, or impact of a work in its field of study. Critical approaches to critiques include formalism, which analyzes intrinsic textual elements; reader-response criticism, which considers the reviewer's reaction; feminist criticism, which examines gender presentations; and Marxism criticism, which reveals class-based experiences.
