Ali atwi Objective: -Establishing a modern farm with a hydroponic fodder system. -Brief history of hydroponic agriculture. -Water use efficiency under hydroponic conditions Outline: -Hydroponic fodder system -Water efficiency -Benefits of fodder over cattle health -Cost reduction -Conclusion Introduction: -Hydroponic fodder is produced by growing seeds without soil, and with very little water, within six-seven days the seeds are sprouted the seedlings will be up to 30-35 cm tall and provide a highly nutritious fodder History: The methods of hydroponic fodder production date back to the 1800s or earlier, from the 'Hanging Gardens of Babylon' era, when European dairy farmers fed sprouted grains to their cows during winter to maintain milk production and improve fertility Water efficiency: Reducing agricultural water use while maintaining or improving economic productivity of the agricultural sector is a major challenge. Benefits: The fodder produced from the system is highly palatable, which makes eating more enjoyable for your animals. You can expect healthier livestock, with increased energy levels and fertility rates, as well as glossier coats in horses, cleaner eggs in laying operations and higher milk yields in goats and cattle Cost reduction: Producing fodder is a cost effective way to provide a consistent source of high quality nutrition to your livestock. Conclusion: Hydroponic fodder systems make the most sense for organic and/or grass-fed livestock operations, smaller family farms, “hobby operations” and horse stables ANY QUESTION?
