Angular Perspective

This document discusses perspective drawing using the two-point or angular perspective method. It defines key terms used in constructing two-point perspective such as picture plane, ground line, horizon line, station point, vanishing point, plan, and elevation. It then outlines the 12 steps to construct two-point perspective, which involves drawing horizontal lines, the plan and elevation, locating the station point and vanishing points, and using visual rays to find piercing points and draw piercing and receding lines.

PERSPECTIVE DRAWING
Is a technique used in art and design to represent three-
dimensional images on a two-dimensional picture plane.
TERMS USED IN CONSTRUCTING
PERSPECTIVE (MECHANICAL METHOD)

1. Picture Plane – an imaginary plane of projection

II. Ground Line – is the ground line where an object

rests.

III. Horizon Line – is the edge view of the horizon plane

which is parallel to the ground.

IV. Station Point – is the position or location of the

observer.

V. Vanisihing Point – is used where corners of the object

seems to meet or converge.

VI. Plan – is the top view of an object in orthographic

drawing.

VII. Elevation – the front view or side view of a building

or object. It shows the height of the object.

VIII. Piercing point – intersection of visual rays and the

picture plane.
TERMS USED IN CONSTRUCTING

IX. Visual Rays – lines from station point to the various

corners of the plan.

X. Converging Lines – lines from vanishing point to the

pictorial.

XI. Piercing Line – line projected downward from the

piercing point to the perspective view.

XII. Receding Line – line projected from the vanishing

point to the perspective view.
STEPS IN MAKING ANGULAR OR TWO-
POINT PERSPECTIVE

1. Draw the three horizontal lines:

a. Picture Plane (PP)

b. Horizon Line (HL)
c. Ground Line (GL)

6. From the corners of the plan using the station point,

draw the VISUAL RAYS to have the piercing points.
