Research Methodology
Meaning of research:
Research in common parlance refers to a search for
knowledge.
Research also can be defined as a scientific and
systematic search for pertinent information on a
specific topic.
Or “a careful investigation or inquiry specially through
search for new facts in any branch of knowledge.”
Or “systematized effort to gain new knowledge.”
Research is an academic activity.

Qualitative research explores attitudes,
behavior and experiences through such
methods as interviews or focus groups. It
attempts to get an in-depth opinion from
participants.
Quantitative research generates statistics
through the use of large-scale survey research,
using methods such as questionnaires,
structured interviews or experimental work.

data.
