Vision of the Department:

To impart international standard electrical education and enabling students to solve


any socio-economic problem through an innovative approach.

Mission of the Department:


 To bring up the knowledge of a fresh students to a certain equivalent level.
 To offer high quality graduate program in electrical education to enable students for
better professional career and higher studies.
 The department promotes excellence through innovative teaching methodology,
research, multidisciplinary activities and positive contribution towards society.
 To imbibe the ethical and moral values among the students.
Programme Outcomes
 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution
of complex engineering problems.
 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyses complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first
principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the
specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
 Conduct investigations of complex problems: The problems that cannot be solved by straightforward application of knowledge, theories and
techniques applicable to the engineering discipline.
 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and
modelling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
 The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the
consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
 Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and
demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
 Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
 Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
 Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with t h e society at large, such as,

Student achievements in the last 5 Year

• Soumi Guha, a 2014 pass-out student ranked in the university topper list.

• Poulami Gangopadhyay, a 2016 pass-out student become the university topper.

• One student project led by Subhashis Ghosh, a 2017 pass-out student with his project
group participated in the Smart India Hackathon 2017 which bagged the second
runner-up position and awarded INR 50,000.00 from Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology (MeitY).

• One student project leaded by Bratati Halder, a 2017 pass-out student along with the
other group members from this department, participated in the India Innovation
Challenge Design Contest (IICDC), 2016 and become the winner to bag prize money
of INR 150,000.00 and total funding of approximately INR 25,00000.00 for product
and business development.
Student achievements in the last 5 Year

• Three of student projects led by our 2018 passout students of this department named
Arup Das, Arkajit Roy, and Saikat Sahoo, along with their group participated and
selected among the top project ideas in the SmartFifty,2017 contest and won benefits
of INR 150,000.00

• Two student project by our current students selected in the quarterfinal in the event
IICDC,2018.

•One student Project by our current students selected and contested in the grand finale
in IFLA,2018 event.
