Preventive Measures For Computer Viruses

To prevent computer viruses, users should turn on their firewall, keep their computer system updated by checking for Windows updates regularly, install antivirus software, avoid questionable websites and pirated software, back up their computer regularly, and manually check for Windows updates by selecting Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates. Malware includes viruses, worms, spyware, and Trojan horses that can damage systems or steal data. Viruses replicate by altering other programs, worms spread without user interaction, spyware changes configurations and collects personal information, and Trojan horses hide in other programs.
