Introduction

Description of Business - Staffing is an exciting and diverse industry. It has blossomed from a fairly narrow
sector known for providing office personnel to fill in for sick or vacationing workers to a major industry
that provides a full range of human resource services to virtually every type of business and employer. It
provides Staffing solutions (assisting the customers in finding the right candidates) to meet specific client
needs, from short assignments to full-time hires.

One of the larger and more robust niches today is the IT staffing and solutions segment that
furnishes IT, computer, and engineering professionals both on a contingent and / or project basis.

Why a business use Staffing Agencies?

• Improve Productivity: Bringing in temporary workers to handle work overload can prevent employee
burnout of full-time staff.
• Try Before You Buy: Temporary employees give the business a chance to try out an employee before
making a permanent offer of employment.
• Decrease Costs: Temporary staff persons are employed by the staffing agency, not the business that is
using their services. This can decrease the overall costs of the employee as the business does not have
to provide benefits to a temporary staff member.
• Increase Flexibility: Temporary employees allow businesses to use staff as needed
Why Staffing Agencies?
Why a candidate choose to work for a staffing firm: The best reason to work for a staffing company is the
reliable connection to the work a candidate need and want. The staffing industry is almost always hiring. But
there are a host of other reasons why a staffing job can be a great choice.
• Staffing companies have jobs to fill: Businesses of all types and sizes turn to staffing firms for flexibility and access
to talent. They know that staffing companies are experts in recruiting and matching employees for temporary,
contract, or permanent positions. So when they have job openings, they increasingly go to staffing firms to help
meet their workforce needs.
• Transition to a Permanent Job: Nearly 90% of temporary and contract employees say that staffing work makes
them more employable. A research shows that temporary employment is a bridge to permanent jobs. Nearly 90%
of temporary and contract employees also say that staffing work makes them more employable. About half (49%)
say working with a staffing firm is a way to get a permanent job. And one-third (34%) of temporary and contract
employees were offered permanent positions by a client firm where they had worked on assignment—with two-
thirds (66%) of those accepting the offers of employment.
• Flexibility: With a staffing firm, you can gain exposure to a variety of companies, jobs, and opportunities.
Temporary employment allows you to work when and where you choose. You can work full-time or part-time. Take
a summer off. Work just three or four days a week. Fit your schedule around college classes.
Working for a staffing firm also allows you to experience a variety of industries, companies, and careers you
might never have thought of trying—without a long-term commitment. You can find an assignment, job setting, or
location that suits your current needs. Since businesses always need temporary help, steady work is common.
• Choose Your Work: When you’re working with a staffing firm, you can gain exposure to a variety of companies,
jobs, and opportunities. Assignments can range from a few hours to a few years. After several assignments, you’ll
have a much better idea of the kind of corporate culture, management, and projects you most enjoy.
