Reducing Streetism: A Neglected Cause of Social Anxiety and Delinquency in Adama City

This document outlines a plan to address the problem of streetism among children in Adama City through a media advocacy intervention. It describes streetism as children living or working on the streets, notes there are over 2000 street children currently, and lists causes like poverty, drought, and family issues. The goals are to raise awareness of the causes and scope of streetism and strengthen protections for children. Data will be collected through observation, focus groups and interviews to design media materials. A listener group will provide feedback and the media plan will be broadcast through outlets to further advocacy efforts aimed at addressing this social issue.
