skulls with a solid black acrylic background
to allow the skulls to be a clear focal point.
Along with a selected developmental piece
that came before the final.
- Intaglio Prints -
These are three prints created with different
coloured inks and the third print has a hint of
mixed media as I used a green sheet of tissue
paper to resemble the overgrown nature coming
from the building.

- 2D Practice – Poses/Stances and character aspects –
As I was creating my own character, I had to think about all aspects of
it. I designed different poses that I thought I would piece into my
development and then started developing the characters appearance.
I looked at clothing he could wear, such as; hats, cloaks and masks. I
also looked at some equipment he could have as possible accessories.
Due to his profession, I looked at different equipment related to body
piercing industry.
- 2D Practice – Further Development -
Looked at mediums and also planned out a different pose and
point of view
- 3D Practice – Manmade Sculpture -
3D practice creating sculptures of manmade type objects. I chose to
make a jug. I started by creating circular cut outs of carboard to
mimic the tall shape of the jug and then used masking tape and pink
tissue paper to shape the object and hide the cardboard edgings. To
finish the sculpture, I used white acrylic paint to cover the pink
tissue paper.

To create the face, I used several different tools. Some

which were part made myself. I used a sponge for
smooth sections of the face, wooden sticks which all had
different shapes and ends for using in certain sections
and pens with various thickness of wire curved and
taped to the end for removing clay.
- Development/Drawing of skull -
Using the beach, I created a drawing
with my finger in the sand of a
general human skull

- Finished Land Art -

I then collected various sized clean white stones, rocks and pebbles to create
the outline of the drawing and the nose. To create the illusion of dark hollow
eye sockets, I collected dark greyish/black rocks to fill the eyes.
- Photography -
These are photographs that I had taken
using an iPhone 11 camera, playing
around with the settings. The
photographs were taken at an old
abandoned met station.

- Pinhole Photography -
This photograph was taken using a
pinhole camera which I created using
an airpod box. This photograph was
taken in the breathing space section
outside Dundee and Angus college.

- Digital Art using pinhole camera photograph -

Using digital programs, I used my pinhole camera photograph of the

Dundee and Angus grounds to create several different variations of it.
Played around with different colours, gradients and even advanced settings
(on the far right photograph).
- Digitally edited photographs -
Using ‘Paint.net’, a digital program, I edited a series of
photographs selected from my photography from the
abandoned met station. I used coloured photos and edited
them into a B&W (Black & White) filter to create contrast.
