CLIMATE WITH MARGINALLY LESS RAIN
THAN REQUIRED FOR A TROPICAL
SAVANNA CLIMATE.

• DOSHI HAS KEENLY OBSERVED THIS AND


CONSTRUCTED THE BUILDING ABOVE THE
GROUND AS SEEN IN LE CORBUSIERS
BUILDINGS BUT UNLIKE LE CORBUSIER
WHERE THE BUILDINGS FUNCTION START
FROM ABOVE THE GROUND, DOSHI USED
THE UNDERNEATH SPACE BASED ON THE
MICROCLIMATE , TO PROVIDE ACTIVE
MULTIFUNCTIONAL SPACES.THESE WERE
DESIGNED FOR SUNPROTECTION AND
EXPOSURE FROM HARSH BREEZE.

• HE HAS PROVIDED FUNNEL STAIRCASES


FOR WIND TO BE DIRECTED WITHIN THE
INTERIOR SPACES.

• TO CUT DOWN THE SUNLIGHT WHILE


ADMITTING NATURAL VENTILATION, DOSHI
DESIGNED A STRUCTURALLY PARALLEL
BRICK WALLS AND DEEP CONCRETE
COLUMNS.
