 A cyber community is a virtual community


that include one or more groups of people.
 a group of internet users who interact and
regularly participate by using a social media
profile to post about a given topic.
 Virtual communities allow people to interact
with each other using different types of
computer messages.
Virtual Communication
 As a mode of communication that
includes the use of technology-based
audio and video to communicate with
people who are not physically present in
front of us.
Communication
 A virtual community gives people in a
smaller town or cities the chance to
communicate with individuals from other
states or countries.

 Within cyber communities, people can have


conversations about political, popular
culture, life-related or other topics.
Relationships and Connections
 Through cyber communities, people
often develop connections with other
people becoming acquaintances, friends,
busInes's associates or romantically
involved with others.
Purpose
 Cyber communities usually have a specific
purpose, such as forming romantic
relationships, learning about new ideas, selling
items, playing games or commuboating with
others.
 Even topic-targeted cyber communities get
infiltrated by people who want to discus other
topics such as sex or advertise their products or
services.
Availability
 Discussions within virtual communities,
including conversations in forums and
blogs, are usually available for others to
view for long periods of time. Who is
able to view these conversations depends
on a websites structure and settings.

forum. From instant messaging to a chat
discussion on a website or online
classroom.

 People use various types of e -conferencing software
during a conferencing session. For social chat forums,
Yahoo messenger and Skype are the most common
software use for casual conversations among friends
and associates.
Moderator
 In all discussion forums, a moderator is present to
provide assistance in discussion as well as be a referee
whenever an individual or discussion is out of context.
