mean?

…find all the numbers

you can multiply
together to get that
number as the product.
EVERY number
greater than 1 has
the number 1 and
itself as a factor.
WHAT ARE THE FACTORS OF 27?
Remember, you are being asked to find all the numbers
that can be multiplied together to get the answer 27.

27: 1, 3, 9, 27
1 X 27
3X9

HINT:
Always write factors from least to greatest.

What are the common factors of:
1. 6 & 9
2. 24 & 48
3. 25 & 45
GREATEST COMMON
FACTOR
The greatest factor that both
numbers have in common.

GCF = Greatest Common Factor

FIND THE GCF
9 12
1x9 1 x 12
3x3 2x6
3x4
9 : 1,3,9
12: 1,2,3,4,6,12
PRACTICE
Find the GCF:
1. 12 & 26
2. 9 & 21

of multiplication to see if a
specific number is a multiple of
the given number.
