4th File Folder Expert Witness Mid-Unit Assignment Presentation

Bozbey Seyhan presents evidence to the court as a mathematics expert. Through trigonometric calculations using the crime scene sketch, Seyhan determines that the angle of the shot could only have come from the 7th floor window. Seyhan shows step-by-step working to justify this, concluding that the suspect must have been a resident of the 7th floor based on the ballistics report and witness statements provided.

Expert Mid Unit Assignment MHF4U

By Bozbey Seyhan
Teacher: Andre Bergeron
Date: December 24, 2020

1
State your name, date and your personal information for the court:
Hello, first of all my name is Bozbey Seyhan I was born and raised in Izmir,
Turkey. Court day is December 15, 2020. I am an expert in trigonometry and I
will provide you with more information once our trial begins.

2
My working experience and my
education life:
• My name is Bozbey Seyhan and i am a highly qualified mathematician. Due to my
work and my vast experience in the last 10 years i managed to get recognized by
many colleagues in this field. I use my experience to assist my old collegue's such as
Aziz Sancar and Ilber Ortaylı in their projects which proves that i am highly qualified
in many fields not just mathematics. I finished my High school in Canada, afterwards
i decided to study in University Of Amsterdam and got my diploma and my masters
from there. Afterwards i decided to finish my Ph.D for trigonometry from University
of Harvard to get the best education possible and create myself a bright career. And
today i will prove the court that who commited this crime with my experience.

3
Now i will show the court my work step by step and give insights
with my mathematical experience to show what happened.

• In my expert opinion the crime is commited from the 7th Window and my diagrams
will prove it.

Crime Scene Sketch

5
The Crime window
• In my opinion the crime suspect was on the window of the 7th floor
• Crime window

6
Crime Suspect Justification

•  Assume that angle VGH is a right angled

triangle
• Angle =75
• This suggests that the shooter was look
almost straight down.
• It is evidenced that the angle the shooter was
shooting from was only 15 which is 90=15

Crime justice justification cont’d

• Therefore,
  the distance GH is longer
than VG
• In order for the crime scene sketch
triangle dimension to work out the
distance VG must be more than 5m
• Then the height GH is greater than
(5mtan 75

Crime justice justification cont’d

•  Since the height between each

floor is 3.048m
• Then the height of the 1st to the 5th
floor is 3.048m5m=15.24 which is
less than 18.66m
• Then the height to the 6th floor is
3.048m6=18.288m,thus 18.66m is
more than the ceiling of the 6th
floor
9
Crime justice justification cont’d
• Therefore this implies that the suspect was a resident of the 7th floor

10
Conclusion
• In conclusion, I would like to tell the court that according to the Ballistic lab
report and the police report and witness department, the crime suspect is a
resident of the 7th floor.
• This is evidenced by the application of trigonometry mathematics to locate
the point where the suspect was at the time of crime base on the report I was
provided with.
• The calculations have been done is of a high quality. Therefore, the suspect of
the 7th floor should be held into account by this court.
